During the season of Lent, we are invited to fast, to pray, and to give alms. Each year we find a charitable project that we can all support together. This year our Lent Project is very specific: to help to furnish the chapel at the new Catholic Institute of Business and Technology in Accra, Ghana.

There will be a second collection at all Masses on Sunday 19th March, and if you can put on any fundraising efforts yourself, please speak to Fr Daniel. He can also tell you the cost of particular items in the chapel.  For example: the altar would cost £928; altar rails, £1,255; or chapel door £695.

The mission of CIBT is to create a distinctively Catholic institution in which:

  • Catholicism is effectively operative and education is truly geared towards the demands of modern society
  • Professional education opens doors in various areas of human endeavour such as business, arts, social and natural sciences
  • Students have the opportunity to expand their horizon by exploring other areas of study, outside their specialised fields. This will help them develop that flexible thinking critical for successful leadership in any organisation
