Maundy Thursday begins the Easter Triduum, which continues at 3pm on Good Friday and 9pm on Holy Saturday.
The Mass of the Lord's Supper is celebrated in white vestments, since it commemorates the institution of the Holy Eucharist - God's greatest gift to us.
When we receive Holy Communion, the Lord Jesus comes to live in us.
The Blessed Sacrament is taken to the Altar of Repose.
The flowers and candles attest to our love for the Lord Jesus in His Most Holy Sacrament.
Until midnight we watch with Him, so as to accompany Him in His Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
