On this day, 7th August 1679, Blessed Nicholas Postgate, the Priest of the Moors, was hanged, drawn, and quartered in York.
A splendid sight, as 2 Signal Regiment marches past our church with bayonets fixed, exercising its Freedom of the City of York.
