475 years ago today, on 23rd May 1551, our Holy Father St Philip was ordained priest at San Tommaso in Parione.
St John Henry Newman, in his litany of St Philip, calls him ‘Gemma sacerdotum’ - ‘Choicest of priests’.
St Philip transformed Rome by encouraging frequent Confession. We can transform York in exactly the same way.
